I'm the director of Medelec Electrical Technologies, and started the business as Halogen Electrical back in 2005 working from my garage in an old Toyota Hiace. A lot has changed in the last 16 or so years, and the business has grown expontentially. We now have 6 full time staff plus the admin girls who really keep us going.
I'm so proud of our team and where we've come from.
My name is Steph and I am the wife. I am a midwife by trade but have been decreasing my hours year after year and I am having more and more to do with the business. Basically, I am the gofer, travelling to collect product and delivering it to the boys, arranging things like training dates, travel schedules and now moving into HR and marketing.
My other role is the mum and housekeeper. My extracurricular activities involve spending time with friends and family, camping, beach visits and long leisurely walks with Gus, the dog.
I have been working at Medelec Electrical Technologies since 2015 as a part-time bookkeeper. As well as being a part time Maths teacher, I started bookkeeping in 2012 when my partner started a business. I love the variety and balance of roles as a teacher, tutor and bookkeeper – I admit I am a total Maths nerd, love teaching, solving problems and balancing the books, and it’s great working with Aaron – I have been good friends with Aaron and Steph since we first met in 2013.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, trips out and about, catching up with friends, holidays, and keeping busy in the garden.
I started my apprenticeship in 2007 and have been qualified for 11 years. I have been working with the team for over 7 years now, I enjoy the diversity and different challenges of being an electrician, especially in the medical/dental area.
In my spare time I enjoy woodworking, playing sport and spending time with my wife, family and friends as well as my 2 dogs.
I started with Aaron at Medelec at the very start of my apprenticeship, learning the tools of the trade from Aaron and the other boys. I have recently completed my training and am now on board as a tradesman.
The medical electrical industry is an interesting and challenging field to work in and I enjoy it.
My spare time is spent on working on cars and camping trips away with friends.
I’m the youngest of the bunch and love what I do. I'm in my final year as an apprentice. I’m family oriented and always after a good time.
I enjoy camping, the beach and anything with wheels.
My name is Gus and I am the work dog. I’m 3 years old and have been coming to work with Dad since I was 8 weeks old.
My hobbies include cuddles, eating anything that resembles food, napping and taking myself on adventures through Wangara to find treats.
